BDSM Is Not Shorthand for Buddhism...But It Is

Sex, much like life, is best when we feel self-expressed. But that’s why, for many of us, sex just isn’t as good as it could be. Often, we may feel constricted or afraid, ashamed of what we think, what we want, or where we’ve been.
In this episode of Touchpoint, we hear stories of people who have overcome shame and some that are working on it, some really helpful insights from our sex educator in-residence, Dr. Zhana, and the important reminder that when we speak our truth, we set ourselves free.
Thanks for listening.

How To Talk About Money When You're In Love
Tuesday Feb 26, 2019
Tuesday Feb 26, 2019
Mae West once said, “Love conquers all things except poverty and toothache.” Because while love is the energy that makes life meaningful, money is the tool that make life livable. And at the intersection of love and money comes a very important and often triggering conversation that when left undiscussed, can make for a very challenging romantic ride.
In fact, multiple studies have proven that fighting over money is the number one predictor for divorce in the United States. Ultimately, the relationship we cultivate with dollars and cents will have an existential impact on the relationships we cultivate with lovers and partners.
That’s why I wanted to chat with Mara Meinhofer, a certified financial planner who works with individuals and couples on an emerging practice called Financial Therapy, which empowers people to bring a sense of mindfulness to their money, and ultimately, their lives.
In this episode, we talk about how spenders and savers seem to always find each other, how our earliest childhood memories subconsciously steer our financial habits, the tell-tale signs of financial abuse, how to open our hearts to financially merge with a partner, and so much more.
You can learn more about Mara here.

How Meditation Makes Us Better In Bed w/ Emily Fletcher
Tuesday Feb 19, 2019
Tuesday Feb 19, 2019
Someone once said, “It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it.”
I only say “someone” because the quotation has been attributed to at least three different people on the internet, and I really have no idea who said it.
But citations aside, it’s pretty brilliant, right?
After all, life’s challenges in bed, in love, anywhere really are basically measured by our preparedness for their arrival. So what can we do to the lighten the load? According to meditation teacher and author of the new book, Stress Less, Accomplish More, Emily Fletcher, meditation is the answer.
Now if meditation feels like a heavy word, I get it. For the uninitiated, it can feel a little daunting. And that’s why I wanted to chat with Emily about how meditation can change our lives, and make us better partners, lovers, and more.
In this conversation, she shares her story from going from Broadway performer to internationally renowned meditation teacher, how meditation can dramatically improve our sex lives, the details of a wild fertility ceremony she did over Skype with a “secret shaman,” and gives us a window her new book, Stress Less, Accomplish More, which is officially in stores today!
This episode is packed with tips and ideas on how mindful practices and meditation can shift the way you’re carrying your life around, and I’m excited to share it with you now.
Here. We. Go.
Love, Jmw.

She Said Yes!

Sierra had a crush on Cassandra in 9th grade. But Cassandra didn't think she was into women at that point so it was a no go. Fast forward to adulthood when they find each other again and fall in love. And then, last week at our town hall, Sierra pops the question. Spoiler alert: this episode contains our favorite Touchpoint moment so far.
In addition to all that good loving, stories of "kink party" fails, intimate spreadsheets, never-too-late apologies for nonconsensual sex, and so much more.
Here's the next episode of the Touchpoint Town Hall recorded live in New York City on February 5, 2019 at The Assemblage Nomad.
Hosted by Touchpoint founder, Jared Matthew Weiss.

Hookups, Happiness, & Heartbreak

On this episode, I play a round of the Touchpoint sex tarot with Amy Chan, the founder of Renew Breakup Boot Camp—a shmancy retreat for women to heal after a breakup.
While we explore the intimate details of Amy’s sex life—a conversation she admittedly doesn’t have very often—she does drop some knowledge around self-love, the brain chemistry of someone who is smitten, the discomfort we may feel when using dirty words, and what a potential road to long-term partnership could look like if we can just slow down.

Speaking Your Truth In Bed, In Love, & In Life w/ Miki Agrawal
Monday Jan 28, 2019
Monday Jan 28, 2019
Too often, we accept things the way they are; leaving ourselves and others without what we really need to self-actualize and grow. Too many desires go unmet. Too many dreams go unfulfilled. Too many words go unspoken. And too many relationships go on and on without reciprocity or joy. In general, we tolerate things that feel wrong or seemingly could be better because we think, “That’s just the ways things are. After all, it’s the way they’ve always been.”
But some people don’t think that way. Some people are willing to disrupt the status quo in their lives or in the lives of others because they truly believe that things can be better—and they commit themselves to making it so.
One of those people is Miki Agrawal. She’s the cofounder of the first-ever period-proof underwear for women, THINX, the founder of a bidet company, TUSHY, and the author of a new book called Disrupt-Her: A Manifesto for the Modern Woman which comes out today.
In this episode, Miki shares about her new book, her burning man love story, the importance of building community, the art of authenticity, the love contract she shares with her husband with sexual stipulations, the effects of porn on a relationship, and so much more.

Sex, Love, & Spirituality
Tuesday Jan 22, 2019
Tuesday Jan 22, 2019
Alright. Let's get spiritual. This week on the podcast, we have Master Kundalini Teacher, Hari Kaur. So now you're possibly asking yourself, "WTF is Kundalini?"
I totally feel you. About eighteen months ago, I had no idea what it was either. But then I met Hari––and along with my partner, Erin––I took her nine-month Kundalini teacher training program in New York City, and it totally rocked my world.
Hari is an O.G. in the world of wellness and spirituality. She's been training teachers for decades, has written two books, and has served as a guide and mentor for thousands of students.
In this week's episode, we talk about sex through the lens of spirituality. She shares about her love life prior to putting on a turban, how her mystical marriage came to be, that foreplay should be seventy-two hours long when it's done right, and so much more.
Recorded live in New York City in April of 2018.

Squirting, Consent, & Cosmic Love
Monday Jan 14, 2019
Monday Jan 14, 2019
From squirting to consent, journaling to coming out, cosmic love to sexy spreadsheets, the storytellers from this last town hall stirred our souls, opened our minds, and made us laugh—a lot.
Unfortunately, we had some serious technical glitches while recording, and so in some parts the sound quality is just terrible. We wrestled with whether or not we should share the episode considering the low quality sound, but ultimately decided that we had to.
I mean—whether in bed, in love, or at a live event—things are bound to go wrong. Sometimes, it’s best to just acknowledge it out loud and let the show go on.
So—without further ado—we give you the touchpoint town hall live from New York City on January 8, 2019.

The Magic of Talking Sex With A Long-Term Partner
Monday Dec 17, 2018
Monday Dec 17, 2018
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from talking to thousands of people about their sex lives it’s that we do not need to talk about sex to have sex—but we do need to talk about sex to have great sex.
In this episode, I sit with power couple, Jen Miller and Jason Feifer. Jen is a published author and journalist who writes for the New York Times, The Washington Post, and more. Jason is the editor-in-chief of Entrepreneur magazine.
They co-wrote a novel called Mr. Nice Guy about two dating columnists who sleep together once a week, and then review each other’s performances in their respective columns.
In our conversation, they open up about the ups and downs of collaborating with a romantic partner, the ways in which talking about sex has changed their relationship, and share a few personal stories from their sexual pasts that you won’t want to miss.
They’re an inspiring couple, incredible parents, and it was such a privilege to hang with them for a little while.
Here. We. Go.
You can buy the book here.
You can follow Jason on Instagram here.
