Wednesday May 20, 2020
Wednesday May 20, 2020
On this week's episode of the Touchpoint Town Hall, we heard from two couples who were navigating unique challenges in quarantine.
First, Brandi and Kat shared about negotiating personal space while in lockdown. Especially since Brandi is a trans man who longs for alone time to become "more familiar" with his new body.
Then, Jedaya and Josué opened up about being in a new relationship, navigating a miscarriage, and overcoming some bad programming about what it means to be a man.
Finally, we chatted with some Super Eligible Humans––aka singles who were ready to mingle.

In this week's episode of Touchpoint, we have three very different stories about what it means to fully be ourselves.
First Taty opens up about being polyamorous and redefining love for herself...
...then Erika shares how she navigated having––what she felt was––an embarrassing health issue with a new partner while she was quarantined with him...and his parents...
...and then Bethany shares with us about how she went from being a super conservative missionary who was protesting outside of gay bars and declaring homosexuality a sin to coming out as queer and reimagining her life.
Plus, we meet three Army vets who met in Afghanistan, and are this week's "most eligible humans."
We record live every Tuesday at 7:30pm EST.

The Touchpoint Check-In
Saturday Mar 21, 2020
Saturday Mar 21, 2020
It's March of 2020, and we are all in the midst of a real crisis of connection right now. We have been told to socially distance ourselves; to steer clear of each other. To hunker down in our homes, to avoid physical touch; and so our need for human connection has never been greater.
That’s why, in response, we've decided to host a virtual, daily check-in call every night at 6pm EST for the foreseeable future. Anyone can join. The space is totally free.
It’s a space where we can see other faces, hear other voices, and feel more connected. Especially during this moment where we need to experience human touch more deeply than ever before.
We are recording the conversations, and then sharing them each day as podcast episodes. Think of it kind of like a radio show with callers from all over the world sharing the stories of their “social distancing experiences” and more.
So far, people have joined us from Italy, Australia, Mexico, Germany, the UK, Canada, Brazil, and from coast to coast in the USA.
We're not sure what to expect from this experience. Touchpoint has always been an experiment in human connection and conversation.
In this episode, Jared chats with...
...a new couple quarantined together in Southern California trying to figure out how often they should be having sex. They haven’t seen anyone else except the plumber in five days.
...a Seattle-based college student in her dorm navigating social isolation, taking space from a romantic partner, and having a family across the country who just aren’t taking the proper precautions.
...a restaurant consultant in LA who is finding himself in a strange place professionally as all of his colleagues navigate a massive financial crisis.
...a woman in Brooklyn who experiences fresh air for the first time in many days as she heads to the grocery store for the first time; everyone standing six feet apart.
...a woman whose uncle passed away last week and now they’re trying to figure out what kind of funeral can be had. How do we deal with the passing of loved ones in the time of quarantine and social isolation?
...and so many more.
You can join the check-in call every night at 6pm EST at lovetouchpoint.com/online.

The Most Courageous Love Story Ever Told
Wednesday May 22, 2019
Wednesday May 22, 2019
On today’s episode of Touchpoint, I sit down with two of the bravest people I’ve ever met. Their life stories both individually and collectively stand as prismatic examples of the messes we create when we do not show up as ourselves and the magic we experience when we do.
I first met Nick and Katherine North in Marfa, Texas at a week-long creative conference called Yeah Field Trip. I was hosting a town hall about love and sex––obviously––and they were sitting right up front. When I asked people to share what comes up for them when I said the word “sex,” Nick shouted out, “This morning!” He and Katherine were all cuddled up together. It was very cute. Everyone laughed. I turned my attention their way.
“How long have you two been together?” I asked.
“About five years,” said Katherine.
“And how was the sex you were having five years ago different than the sex you had this morning?”
They looked at each other lovingly.
“Well for one,” said Nick, “I was a woman then.”
The room was still. It was a powerful moment. They proceeded to share a few bits of what I consider to be one of the most courageous love stories I’ve ever heard. It’s a story of overcoming poverty, shame, gender and sexual oppression, while cultivating friendship, family, intimacy, and above all things, the bravery to be yourself.
I’m grateful that Nick and Katherine agreed to sit with me and share their story. It has changed my life. They have touched my heart. And I’m honored and privileged to bring this story to you. I hope it gives you more permission to be whoever you are––in bed, in love, and in life.
Thanks for listening.
Here. We. Go.
Love, Jmw.

What Does It Mean To Be A Man?
Tuesday Mar 26, 2019
Tuesday Mar 26, 2019
Andrew Horn wants men to get more vulnerable. He’s the founder of a new organization called Junto, a not-so-secret club for men to explore emotional mastery where he curates workshops and weekend retreats for bros to come together, take off their macho masks, and get real about their feelings.
In a #metoo world, this work is very important. And that’s why I wanted to chat with Andrew about his personal journey. In this episode, he shares stories of being bullied as a child, how he’s learned to be in partnership with a very powerful woman, some of the books that have guided him on his way, and ultimately, what it’s like to raise a son in the modern world.
Andrew is a good friend, so we also share a lot of laughs. But his humor and charm are well-balanced with his insights, and of course, his vulnerability.
